PH5 UV Reactive Styles: Knitwear That Changes Color in Sunlight ☀️
PH5 offers knitwear that combines technical textile innovation with contemporary design. We continue to experiment with UV reactive knitwear, using photochromic yarnsthat create color-changing clothing activated by sunlight. These sunlight responsive garmentsshift from a soft neutral indoors to vibrant pink outdoors.
Our viral UV reactive technology that turns from beige to fuschia in the sun. Knit dresses, tops and cardigans. Graphic T-shirts that reveal their true art under UV, and are a good reminder to wear sunscreen! Perfect pieces for beach vacations, bridal showers or baby showers, we've even had customers use them for gender reveals!
Our definition of a “responsible” product is that 75% of the material composition is from preferred sources that are certified organic, lower impact or recycled.
At PH5, innovation in knitwear begins with materials. Our brand has long explored how advanced & experimental knitting technology and thoughtful textile sourcing can shape a more responsible approach to fashion. Over 80% of our collection meets our definition of responsible products, and we are working hard to get that number to 100% by 2030. Responsible materials are not treated as a separate category at PH5, they are integrated directly into the design process.
To achieve the signature compression and stretch of PH5 pieces we use a combination of yarns, which means that each piece is often a blend. Due to this we are also working hard to keep the percentage of preferred materials high per item and over the whole collection. And where possible offering styles that have a single preferred material, to allow for easier end of life recycling/disposal. Of all the pieces offered in 2025 almost 80% were preferred.
By combiningengineered knitwear techniques with responsibly sourced yarns, PH5 develops garments that are designed to reduce waste while maintaining the structure, texture, and sculptural forms ourbrand is known for.
We were so honoured that Gemma Chan chose to wear PH5's Lydia Sustainably sourced wavy dress for press for the launch of Marvel's Eternals. We are so thankful to Gemma Chan's stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray for supporting us 💕

The Lydia Sustainably Sourced Wavy Asymmetric Dress is made in recycled viscose with a gradient print that was programmed dot by dot by our team. The resort collection is the first time we have managed to create a 100% consciously sourced collection after getting to 91% the season before. Resort 21 was inspired by a story of, what if our knitting machines were bored during COVID and wanted to make some crafts?
~
"What do our machines get up to after we’re done with our work for the day and leave the factory? Our machines emit light through panels and screens to communicate with us and whilst bored during covid lockdown with no humans to communicate with, they started turning those light sources into artworks. Meticulously crafting a gradient pattern through spot by spot of light to create an artwork our machines are pretty proud of."
